    Students in English 3 have been building a career portfolio, focusing on a career they are interested in pursuing after completing their education.

    We are seeking individuals willing to participate in mock interviews or allow job shadows in March 2026. We’re looking for people from many fields: technology, a variety of trades, agriculture, small-business owners, diesel and automotive work, entertainment, medical, education, insurance, law enforcement, veterinary science, and more.

    If you are interested, please contact eroth@charles-city.k12.ia.us with the subject line of "English III Career" before February 1, 2026.

    STUDY TABLES

    Study Table has started, and will be held every other Wednesday in the Library from 2:05 to 3:30. A teacher may refer you to the Study Table if you are struggling in their class. If you want a quiet place to study or do homework, this is a perfect opportunity. A teacher may refer you to the Study Table if you are struggling in their class.     BLOOD DRIVE

    The Charles City High School and Community Blood Drive is scheduled for Monday, November 10th, from 8:30 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. at the high school gym. You must be 17 to donate, or 16 with written consent from parent or legal guardian. If you are going to donate, make sure to do the following:

    💤 Sleep well: 8+ hours the night before

    🥗 Eat smart: Healthy breakfast & lunch (lean protein + complex carbs), avoid fatty foods

    💧 Hydrate: Drink plenty of water

    👕 Dress comfortably: Roll sleeves above elbow; layers recommended

    A Note from Ms. Johnson--Associate Principal

    Students, Parents, and/or Guardians,

    Please look at your emails for updates on your students unexcused absences and/or tardies since the beginning of the school year.

    Students who have earned at least five tardies and/or unexcused absences since the beginning of the school year have been assigned a 90-minute detention. This detention is scheduled to be served on10/29.

    Students who have earned an additional five unexcused absences and/or tardies since they served a detention on 10/15 are now on Step 2 of our Unexcused Absence/Tardy Protocol. If you have received this email, please schedule a meeting with Ms. Johnson for either Tuesday, October 28th, or Thursday, October 30th, between 3:30 and 7:30 (our conference time).
